Writing for Laryngectomee Support groups around the world, it has become a second family to throat cancer survivors, and also their carers. This is my valentine to all the ladies of those groups, for their unfailing patience, courage and spirit.

It's Valentines Day tomorrow,
when young lovers send those cards.
Speeding like cupids arrow,
with either truth or mere charades.

But my thoughts are with you ladies,
and I speak for all the men
when I say "Thank you for your patience,
and the love that you give and send."

Whether a cancer survivor, or carer,
you make our family walk tall,
and I cannot be any fairer,
in admiring you one and all.
